The Library provides carrels for postgraduate students, academic staff and researchers. Carrels 7-16 located at 2nd floor, Central Library, Universiti Malaya.
Please bring the student card and go to the information counter for key collection.
Carrel room booking rules & regulations

Online booking for carrel rooms is currently open for Room 7 to 16, 2nd floor, Central Library, for UM Postgraduates Students ONLY.

Carrel room service starts 30 minutes after the library’s opening hours and ends 10 minutes before the library's closing time.

When collecting the key for your carrel room, please show proof of booking that has been approved and your student card.

Bookings will be canceled if keys are not collected 15 minutes after the booked time slots.

This is a single-occupant room. Only 1 person is allowed to be in the room at all times

Loss of carrel room key should be reported immediately, and users will be charged RM20.00 as a penalty.

Library will not be responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings kept in the carrel room.

Ensure all lights are switched off, and the door is locked each time before leaving the room.

Users will be blocked/suspended for 1 month from carrel room privilege for the following:

Using another person’s student card/identity to book a carrel room

Late return of carrel room key
